Louis B. Rockett, Jr.

April 18, 1963 — October 19, 2020

Our beloved son, father, brother, grandfather, and companion, Louis Benjamin Rockett, Jr., peacefully departed this life Monday, October 19, 2020 at the young age of 57 years. He was born April 18, 1963 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Louis Sr. and Shirley Rockett.

Louis was a graduate of Buena Vista High School, “Class of 1981.” After graduation, he served in the United States Navy. After being discharged from the Navy, he started working for General Motors Corporation for many years before retiring.

Louis loved the Lord and attended church until his health failed him. He never needed anyone to define his value because he stood on Isaiah 33:22, which reads “For the Lord is our Judge; the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our King; He will save us.”

During his latter years, Louis met the love of his life, Rose. He adored her and her children and they shared an unbreakable bond. The couple traveled all around the world and enjoyed great music and food. They shared a life of fun with all their children and the sky was always the limit with them.

To God be the Glory for blessing us with Louis for 57 years. His smile and laughter will always be in our hearts forever. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (II Corinthians 5:8). We love you.

Louis was preceded in death by his father, Louis B. Rockett, Sr.; sister, Shirley Rockett Booker; grandparents, Ellsworth and Susie Holmes, Willie and Beatrice Robinson; aunt, Geraldine Robinson; niece, Candace Williams; brother-in-law, Arnold V. Booker; close friend, Archie Lawrence.
