Louis Mcmiller, Jr.

Mr. Louis McMiller, Jr. was born November 22, 1970 in Monroe, Louisiana to Jewery Matthews Curry and Louis McMiller, Sr. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, August 16, 2019 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi at the age of 48 years.

Louis was raised in Saginaw, Michigan and was the oldest of five children. In the eyes of his younger siblings, he truly embodied the role of a big brother. As a young boy he was a Boy Scout and later graduated from Saginaw Township Community Schools.

In 1996, he moved to Sarasota, Florida. In Florida he obtained an American Board of Optometry Certification and worked in that field for ten years. He later transitioned to renovating homes and received a license for General Contracting. His ability to take a renovation project and transform a home into a beautiful space was a true gift. He had recently relocated to Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

In his spare time, Louis loved to cook, fish and work on cars. Above all, Louis loved and was most proud of his children. His giving spirit, infectious laugh and kind soul will be cherished forever.

He leaves to celebrate his life two children, his first born and pride and joy, Trey McMiller, and the apple of his eye Mariah McMiller; his loving mother whom he adored, Jewery Curry; stepfather, Robert 'Rockie' (Ruth) Curry; siblings, Kimberly Curry, Nicholas (Zarinah) Curry, Robert Curry, Alex Curry; grandson, Braxton McMiller; special aunt and uncle, Dora and Chris Burton; cousins whom he grew up with, John, Michael, George, Elijah, LaShonda and Christy Curry; aunt, Lurline Augurson; best friend, D’Arcy Patterson; former wife and mother of his daughter, Denise; mother of his son, Amanda; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Louis was preceded in death by his father, Louis McMiller, Sr.; grandparents, Elmer and Luerene Matthews, Ed and Maggie Curry; and close cousin, Tyrone Curry.

Louis lived life to the fullest. His talent, his work and his deeds will live on in our memories.
