Louwonia Harris "Basey"

November 30, 1954 — January 3, 2020

Louwonia Harris was born November 30, 1954 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Lillie Harris and Mack Banks. She passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the age of 65 years.

Louwonia, lovingly called “Basey” and “Baby Sister”, was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Johnie F. Edwards. She was faithful in attendance and serving.

Basey enjoyed cooking and there were a few meals she considered her favorites. She loved to dance, and her favorite dance was the “Tootise Roll.” Basey loved to laugh and had an uncanny ability to bring joy in the toughest times. Her beautiful smile and sweet spirit will forever be etched in our hearts and memory.

Louwonia was preceded in death by her father, Mack Banks; brother, Calvin Ruth; sister, Ethlene Jones; mother-in-law, Willie Buell; brother-in-law, Iverson Jones.

She leaves precious memories with her longtime sweetheart, Bobby Buell; daughter, Latosha Harris (Deroen Weatherspoon); son, Robert Harris; grandchildren, Ronnie Howard, Jau’ron Howard, Gregriana Lachell Harris, Brooklyn Donald, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Da’ron Howard, Arlington, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Kandice, Lyric, Treasure Howard; sister, Ruth Kay (Gregory Sr.) Everett; brothers, Dennis Harris, Carl (Rosemary) Ruth; nieces, Shana Jones, Khalia Jones, Tiffany Jones, Dominique Ruth, Lowana Ruth, Shadana Ruth; nephews, Gregory Everett, Jr., Dana Everett, Chris Everett, Karim Jones; sister-in-law, Cynthia Ruth; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends Joyce Wooden, Shelia Buell, Phyllis Ruth, Patricia “Pat” and Christine Hayes.

The family would like to express special thanks to Carl Ruth, Linda Alexander, Henry Ford Hospital, Mid-Michigan of Midland Health Center, Medilodge of Midland, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
