Lovette Swilley

Love is patient, love is kind. Our heavenly Father called Lovette “Love” Swilley home on Monday, November 15, 2021.

Ms. Lovette Swilley was born November 25, 1955 in Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Saginaw Public Schools and was a graduate of Saginaw High School Class of ‘73. Love dedicated over 21 years of service at Elias Brothers Big Boy. She loved to cook, enjoyed attending concerts and dancing. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Love’s home was open to everyone. She never judged anyone, and everyone was treated the same. You could have a cup of coffee or Christian Brothers. Love treated you with love.

She leaves to continue her legacy, three children, Tosha Sykes, Kareem Swilley, Ciara Swilley, and a special son, Askia Muhammed; grandchildren, Traveil, Anthony, Avonte, Cherish, Duryea, Zhaniya, Kymani, Marcell, Kareem, Jr., Mi’Angel, Shontrell, and Kariem; seventeen great-grandchildren; five siblings, David (Mattie) Swilley, Jacqueline (David) Prescott, Yvonne Hubbard, Steffond (Dianne) Swilley, Tyrone Swilley; a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom had their own special relationship with her, each being her favorite; special cousins, Elmer and Isaac Swilley; many other friends and family; special friends, Novelyn Staffney and Paula Thomas.

Love was preceded in death by her parents, William E. (Essie Mae) Swilley, brother, James “Tamp” Swilley, son, Marcellus Swilley, brother-in-law, Harry Hubbard, and special friend, Collins Merrill.
