Ms. Luecinda Land departed this earthly life on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare Center, age 98 years. She was born October 12, 1916 in Tarry, Arkansas to William and Molly Curry, the youngest of eight children.
In 1964, Luecinda relocated to Saginaw, Michigan where she worked as a cook in various restaurants, primarily Mama Lillies. She was a long time member of Christ Community Church, Pastor William D. Aldridge, currently under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Eugene Seals. Luecinda lived a good long life and will be deeply missed and remembered by her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children Willie (Mildred) Land, McKinley Jr. (Mary) Land, Virginia (Joseph) Winchester, James (Christine) Land and Dale Land all of Saginaw, Michigan; fourteen grandchildren, Joyce (Fred) Wright, Charles Land and James E. Land of Minneapolis, MN; Harvey Land of Omaha, Nebraska; Barbara (Dallas) Jones and Carolyn Land of Saginaw, Michigan; Carl Land of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Shirley Land of Saginaw, Michigan; Kenneth (Valeria) Land of Muskegon, Michigan; Jacqueline Land of Commerce Twp., Michigan; James Land Jr., Antwain Terry and Andrea Land of Saginaw, Michigan and Jermaine Westbrook of Burton, Michigan and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces & nephews and a dear brother-in-law Henry Land Jr. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Ollie Sneed, Nellie Henderson and Mary Dawson; four brothers Johnnie Curry, Willie Curry, Lonnie Curry and Buster Curry, one son Melvin Charles (M.C.) Land; four grandchildren Mary Ann Land, Roy Land, Willie Hogan Jr. and Terry Land, one sister-in-law, Marie Moten and one brother-in-law, Wade Land.
The family extends its deepest thanks and gratitude to the Aldridge and Christ Community Church family and the staffs of Covenant Harrison, Heartland Healthcare Center and Heartland Hospice.
