Ms. Luella Jones, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into eternal rest, Wednesday, December 14, 2022, where she was lovingly received in the arms of her Savior. She was born March 23, 1946, in Gold Mine (Richland Parish), Louisiana, to the late Jeff and Ollie (Thomas) Jones
Prior to relocating back to Saginaw to be near her only daughter and three sons following her retirement in 2000, Ms. Jones was a member of the New Light Baptist Church in Wisner, Louisiana, where she served as an usher. Luella united with Daniels Den Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Taurus and Co-Pastor Darlene Simpson. She was a strong prayer warrior with unshakable faith in God. Her children reflect with great joy, seeing God watch over their lives because of their mother’s prayers. Even at the end of her journey, she reminded her family, “I’m good because I have God.”
Luella is survived by her four children, Jeffrey Jones, Darrell Jones, Jacqueline Jones, and Barren (Wendy Lee) Jones, all of Saginaw; grandchildren, Kierra Jones, Derrick Jones, Briyona Jones, Darrell Jones, Garrian and Jayden Dawkins; great-grandson, Bryson Devon Buckley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Luella was the last surviving child of six children. In addition to her parents, Jeff, and Ollie Jones, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Magnolia Jones, Kelly Jones, Lucy Mae Jackson, Cornelius Jones and Jeff Jones, Jr., and one grandson, Marcus Buckley.
Luella leaves behind special friends to cherish her memory, Geneva Curry, Georgia Jones, Dorothy Keinon, Lupe Davis, Carrie Reed, Vivian Keys Brown, Evelyn Keys Spears, and Andrea Lynn Dean.
