Ms. Lynda Marie Davis passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 71 years. She was born January 1, 1947 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the union of the late Arthur and Evelyn Burgess, the first of five children.
Upon graduating from Battle Creek Central, Lynda married the late Forrest Webster of Seattle, WA and from that union two children were born, Candice and Forrest. Upon her return to Battle Creek she married Corey Bouyer and from that union three children were born, Deanna, Coye and Arthur.
As a young woman, Lynda, was named NAACP Miss Michigan in 1965 and served a year in this position. She attended Kellogg Community College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1975 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She was passionate about the education of the next generation; which she passed along to her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Lynda moved to Lansing, MI in 1981 with her five children, where she worked and retired from the State of Michigan after 33 faithful years. Upon moving to Lansing, Lynda and her five children joined Friendship Baptist Church where she was a committed member and spent time volunteering as the church secretary. She remained a member there until her son, Pastor Coye Bouyer, planted Kingdom Life Church in 2010, where she served as a Mother in the Church until her passing.
Lynda Marie leaves to cherish her memory two daughters: Candice (Jon) and Deanna (Aroson); and three sons: Forrest (Theresa), Coye (Keturah), and Arthur. She leaves a legacy of fifteen grand-children and three great grand-children; four siblings: Deboraha (Victor) and Valerie (Archie) both of Battle Creek, Lionel Burgess of Battle Creek, and Gregory Burgess of Troy, Alabama and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents and grandmother, Verna (Dear) Cantrell; niece, Antoinette "Toni" Allen; and nephew, Jerome Carson.
