Mandie Brandon (Lansing)

September 16, 1941 — November 20, 2020

Ms. Mandie Allen Brandon passed away Friday, November 20, 2020, at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 79 years. She was born in Belzoni, Mississippi to Eugene Allen and Mary Ann Ware on September 6, 1941.

She received Christ at an early age prior to her familial transition from Mississippi to Michigan with her oldest children. Once in Michigan, she eventually met and married Oral Brandon.

Mandie became a long-standing member of the original Bethlehem Temple Church of God in Christ under the direction of the late Bishop Alfred Singleton. She was an active member until life took her down a different path. Mandie found her purpose and her passion for her family and friends. She was a caretaker to her own children, grandchildren, and her mother, as well as anyone else who needed her. She was also an avid crossword puzzle player who used puzzles to help keep her mind sharp.

Later in her life, she reconnected with her lifelong friends, Bishop Aaron and Evangelist Virgie Milton, and joined their church family, Jesus of Nazareth Church of God in Christ where she served faithfully as a Church Mother until her Earthly transition.

Mandie leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Jacqueline, Lavida, Sonya, Sophia Allen and Johnnie Mae Hall of Lansing, Michigan, Vallie Mae and Mabel Allen of Mississippi; sons, George, Shelton and Otis Allen of Lansing, Michigan; several grandchildren including the granddaughter she became a mother to, LaKiesha Allen, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Allen and Mary Ann Ware, children Oral and Karen Allen; grandchildren, Troy Macklin, Brandon Williams, Charles Allen, Sr., and Aaniyah Allen; great-grandsons William Morse, Trevionne Perrault, and Noah Smith, as well as several siblings.

Mandie, Mama/Grandma, will be forever loved and missed!
