June 8, 1965 — November 5, 2023

Marcelia Diane Long was called home to glory by our father God and gained her angel wings on Sunday, November 5, 2023. She was born June 6, 1965, in Jackson, Michigan. She was better known as “Diane”. She was a true believer in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She grew up in Jackson and moved to Lansing at 11 years old, along with her parents and sisters. Diane worked at the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department for many years. She received her bachelor’s and worked at Supernova International for the last 14 years.

Diane was the sweetest woman and very kindhearted to every person who met her. If you had the opportunity to get to know Diane personally, you would have known that she had the biggest heart and loved her family. She had a very special love for her children and grandchildren. Diane was a beautiful person who would always go out of her way to help someone she cared about. She loved shopping and making her beaded bracelets (Beads by Diane) and sold at many craft shows around Michigan.

She leaves behind her big family, whom she loved and cherished dearly; children, Darius (Nancy Suarez) Long, Sheneva Tyson, Chanel Long, and KeAnne Sheffey; three granddaughters, J’Anne Arthur-Tyson, Chloe Brown, and Damiea Brown; one bonus grandson, Amareon Brooks; seven sisters, Jacqueline Garland, Rachel Neville, Rita Arnold, Tracey Lee Long, Penny (Charles) Pointer, Laura (Alex) Hall, Candi Long; one aunt, Marilyn Genia; two special cousins, Adrian Jimenez and Damia Genia; and many other close relatives, friends, and special colleagues from work.
