Marcie Mariea York was born August 23, 1974 in Saginaw, Michigan to Robert and Elizabeth York. The second oldest of eight brothers and sisters, she had a tight bond with all of her siblings. Marcie journeyed through Saginaw Public Schools, attending Webber Elementary, Webber Middle School and Saginaw High School. She loved listening to music, watching television and eating fish, which was her favorite food. Nothing brought her more joy than her family. Marcie made it a habit to visit with her family as often as she could. She made sure her family knew they were a priority in her life and that she loved them deeply. Marcie’s effervescent, exuberant and energetic spirit will truly be missed.
God called Marcie to her eternal home on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. She joined her father, Robert York; three sisters, Arliene and Lacreasha York, Odessa York-Barnes; and grandmother, Ophelia Brooks, who all preceded her in death.
Marcie leaves to cherish her memory one son, Isaiah York; mother, Elizabeth Queen Speer-York; two sisters, Elizabeth Melissa, Mary York; four brothers, Alexander, Roderick (Tina), Robert II, Robert III (Karisma) York; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friend, Rodney Gibbons.
The family would like to express special thanks to Roderick York and to everyone for the many kind expressions of love and concern extended to them during this time of bereavement.
