Marcus Gonzalez (Lansing)

Mr. Marcus Reynaldo Gonzalez passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 84 years. He was born June 6, 1934 to Marcus and Daminga Gonzalez in Laredo, Texas.

Marcus attended school in Laredo, Texas, where he met and married the love of his life, Olivia Chavez. Together they relocated to Minnesota and started their family. Seeking to provide for their children the American Dream, they moved to North Dakota, then to Lansing, Michigan where Marcus was able to provide a better life for his family. He worked a few jobs before being hired by the Okemos School District, where he remained until he retired after 14 years of dedicated service. Marcus loved his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren. He was a great provider, husband, and loving father.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 65 years, Olivia; children, Ray, Maria, Robert, Josephine, Roberta, Leo, James, Marty, Virginia, Martha; too many grand and great-grandchildren to name, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Berta, parents, siblings, Marcelina, Petra, Josephina, Andres, Jose, Carlos.
