Our beloved Marcus Jamal Osby, Sr. passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016. Age 28. He was planted on earth, Sunday, January 24, 1988 in Lansing, Michigan; the son of Jeannette Childs and Regginald Osby. Marcus, since the day he was born, was advanced and did everything earlier than most children, such as learning to walk and talk. Our lives were made richer by Marcus, he was our protector, who always looked out for his loved ones every need. His gentle spirit and larger than life heart shined ever so brightly.
The Lord is close to the broken hearted, and he delivers those who spirit has been crushed. Psalms 34:18
Marcus was known by others as Hoss for his bigger than life stature and physical strength, especially his strength while playing basketball. He had a great love for basketball and played the sport throughout his adolescent years including at Everett High School. When he was younger, he played basketball with his coach known as Uncle Don who also served as his mentor. Uncle Don gave him his nickname, Hoss. Marcus attended Everett High School; upon graduating he worked at Meijer Warehouse for 8 years and recently for General Motors.
At an early age he acquired a love for working on and buying old school cars; the older and more unique the car, the better. He simply adored everything about the makeup of cars. He also had a great love for the LORD and had a special bible that he read from. Marcus had a very unique relationship with his two sons and a close bond with his cousins.
Marcus had a way of enriching each persons life he came in contact with because of his kind heart and spirit. His love for his family, two sons and nephew were seen by everyone who knew him. His moto family over everything was showcased throughout his entire life. He was in every essence a true family man and loved his children very much. Marcus was a special and unique man who will be missed dearly.
