Maria "Lady Grace" Gonzales (Lansing)

Ms. Maria “Lady Grace” Graciela Gonzales passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Heartland Hospice in Lansing, Michigan. Age 69 years.

Maria, or as she was loving known as “Gracie” was born on March 22, 1951, the daughter of Ramon and Augustina Gonzales in San Juan, Texas. She lived in Grand Prairie, Texas for a short while, but lived most of her life in Lansing, Michigan. In 1969, Gracie graduated from Eastern High School. She was a devote member of the Cristo Rey Church.

Many who knew her referred to her as “Lady Grace”, as she was a mother, aunt, and special friend to all. Gracie was a proud and loving mother, grandmother; the love she held for her family knew no bounds. To say that “Lady Grace” lived life to the fullest would be an understatement. From her love of art, photography, gardening, music, and dance to going to the beach and casino, she was the life of the party. Gracie loved animals, especially her dog Ceasar. And the Dallas Cowboys were her favorite team to watch.

Gracie leaves to cherish her memory a son, Alejandro Martin Sauceda; two grandchildren, Alejandro (Alex) Martin Sauceda, Jr. and Anais (Ana) Angel Sauceda; five sisters, Rosita DeLaPaz, Rafela Trevino, Lucia Zamora, Enestina Lamb, and Linda Gonzalez; nine brothers, Julian Gonzales, Ramon Gonzales, Jr., Oscar Gonzales, Arturo Gonzales, Gilberto Gonzales, Antonio Gonzales, Joe Pete Gonzales, Raul Gonzales, and David Gonzales; an aunt, Tia Carmen Elizondo; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Evangelina Mia Sauceda; father and mother, Ramon and Augustina Gonzales; her sister, Maria Trevino; and nieces & nephews.
