Marilyn D. Oglesby (Sanders)

February 3, 1948 — March 25, 2024

Mrs. Marilyn D. Oglesby (Sanders) passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, in Clearfield, Utah. Age 76 years. She was born February 3, 1948, in Buena Vista, Georgia, to Marshall and Bennie Sanders.

Marilyn was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, and  a graduate of Saginaw High School. She was a member of St. Luke CME Church, where her parents served in ministry. Marilyn was a homemaker and was formerly employed at Saint Mary’s Hospital.

Marilyn loved her family, loved to spread joy, and made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She enjoyed gardening, was blessed with a green thumb, and always knew the tricks for growing more peppers or transplanting plants. Marilyn enjoyed fishing and would spend hours on the "bank" carefully watching her line and everyone else's. Marilyn had a way to tease out a smile in others and we all enjoyed her sense of humor.

Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Destiny and Stephanie Oglesby of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Nathasha, Samarri’a, Zarriyah, Jaimarion, Zaivyah, Jaiceon, Ja’laiyla, Jaleel, O’mora, Orieano Jr, and Ona; sisters, Jacqueline Sanders, and Mary Mitchell (Sanders) both of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Tyrone (Brenda) Sanders of Layton, Utah, and Anthony Sanders of Winston, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews including Nechell (James) Bonds of Dallas, Texas, Lamar, Adrien, Tamara (Karl) Chamberlain of Layton, Utah, and a special grand-niece, Erika (Michael) Adeniyi of Grand Rapids, Michigan, with whom she shared a birthday; sister-in-law, Christine Rogers; brothers-in-law, Don Michael, and Butch Oglesby; many other family members and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Oglesby; loving granddaughter, Je’Nhyla; a special uncle John (Juanita) Brown; aunt Emma Lois McKether, and cousin Brenda Sanders.

We will miss Marilyn deeply. Be comforted and trust in God; her memory will forever live in our hearts.
