Our beloved Mark Rae Ford passed away suddenly on August 4, 2018 at Taylor Beaumont Hospital in Taylor, Michigan. Mark, aka “Big Bruh”, was born October 10, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the first of eight children born to Tim and Beverly Ford
Life dealt Mark a tough hand at an early age but Mark was a survivor. During one of his trials, he met the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord reached out his hand and said, “Son, I’ll help you stand.” Mark took the Lord’s hand, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and his life was forever changed! Mark became a builder and encourager for the Kingdom of God.
Mark was a member of New City Fellowship Church and served faithfully wherever he was needed. He had a strong desire to serve in the choir but his wife encouraged him to sing from the pew.
Big Bruh loved his family. He made the best of every situation. He loved people genuinely and unconditionally. God blessed his path to cross Berta Bigbee. He knew from the moment he saw her she would become his wife. The first thing he ever said to her was “I know your husband is very happy,” and God in His infinite wisdom brought that vision to pass twice, which was the beginning of a 33-year journey. During this journey, Mark was blessed to marry the same woman of his dream twice, once in February 1991 and secondly on November 5, 2016. From those unions, Mark gained genuine love from the entire Bigbee Family. “Love endures all things” (I Corinthian 13:4).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tim and Beverly Ford; sister Wendy Ford; father and mother-in-law, Tommy L. and Velvet Bigbee; and his beloved dogs, Lucy and KK.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory wife, friend and soul mate, Berta Bigbee-Ford; four brothers, Quran, Malrick, Malcom, Tim Ford; two sisters, Kim (Craig) and Wanda; two beautiful daughters, Tashina (Hommer) Reeves, Aletra (Ernest) Jackson; two granddaughters, Kiairra and LaTyah; three great-grandchildren, JaCoby, Anthony, Brielle; two uncles, Rob and Toni; two god-children, Carter and Carlis Calhoun; a host of nieces, nephews, close friends and confidants, including Ricardo (Patricia)Calhoun, Steve (Heidi) Hoven, Alan “Lil Bro” Clark, Dr. Doug (Susan) Felch, The New City Fellowship Family, and last but not least his dog, Sophia “Ma-Ma”.
We love you “Big Bruh”. Until we meet again my love, I love you and will see you in heaven. Rest in Peace Dear, your work is complete. You have finished your race. Rest on “BOOP”.
“And he will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
