Mr. Marquis Emmanuel Oliver passed away at the age of 21 years on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in Lansing, Michigan. He was born on May 8, 1998 in Lansing, Michigan, to Marlon Oliver and Shiranda Martin.
Marquis was a multi-talented young man who excelled at sports and music. From the time he was a very young boy he loved to perform dance and gymnastics. When he was in middle school his gymnastic flipping skills team, Zero Gravity Parkour; the team earned a sponsorship. He showed off some of those moves on the football field when playing for the Lansing Kappa Express.
Marquis was a very talented up and coming rapper who had gained much respect in the Lansing community. He had been performing at many venues since 2017 and had many fans coming out to support him in his growing career. Marquis was a multi-talented entertainer and excelled at whatever he put his mind to.
Loved by all who knew him, Marquis was a sweet, loving, kind, and giving person. He was loyal to his family and friends and never hesitated to help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Marquis had a large family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, who have been like family to him. He leaves to mourn his loss his parents; Shiranda Martin, and Marlon Oliver; stepmother, Yusimi Oliver; grandparents, Monwell and Annette McGee, Rebeckah Oliver, and Nathaniel Hinton; brothers, MarQuette Oliver, J’Shon Oliver, Marlon Oliver, Jr.; sister, Mariah Oliver; and step-brother Yaco; Mariah’s children, nephew, Za’Kai and niece, Ca’liyah; aunts, Shawna McGee, Savanna McGee, Monica Oliver, Erika Oliver, and special aunt, Shakeita Hayes; uncles, Eddie Martin, Jr., Jordan McGee, and Monwell McGee, Jr.; many other special relatives and friends including: Dominique Oliver, Myesha Sheffey, Charmaine Sheffey, Maurice Owens, Dameka Smith, Xavre’Aira McGee, Zy’Aira Jackson, Jazzmine Sheffey, Dominique Oliver, Jr., Alayah Ross, Giovanni Ross, Chayce Ross, Thomas Harris Jr., Jeanette Harris, best friend, Luis Silva, Godmom, who held a special place in his heart, Cindy Silva, Godmom, Deshonder Dunn and uncle, Monta Duncan.
Marquis was TRULY LOVED by all those he leaves to cherish his memory. He will never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents; Eddie Z. Martin, Jr. “Grandpa Festus”, Juanita Martin, William and Anna Townsend; great uncles, Amos Townsend and William Townsend Jr.
