Marshall Hudson, Sr. (Lansing)

February 12, 1936 — April 28, 2019

On Sunday evening April, 28th, 2019 Marshall L. Hudson, Sr., loving husband and father of two children, made his transition to his Heavenly home at 83 years old. Marshall was born on February 12, 1936 in Litchfield, Illinois, to Louis and Martha Hudson.

Marshall and Ouida were joined in holy matrimony March 10, 1957. From this union two children were born, Kim R. Hudson and Marshall’s namesake, Marshall L. Hudson, Jr. Years later, when Marshall’s brother Arthur, got married to Lee Donna Woodson, Marshall and Ouida would visit their siblings together on their life journey and formed not only friendship but a long loving relationship.

Marshall was an extraordinary man with many endeavors. After finishing his collegiate education, he taught in the Chicago area for several years. Then became an employee of IBM; after several promotions, they relocated to Sylvania, Ohio. After living in Sylvania, Ohio, Marshall accepted a promotion in Michigan. Marshall and Ouida became members of Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, after settling in East Lansing, Michigan. He worked tirelessly as a member of the new building committee, concentrating on edifices on Holmes Road, which is now Tabernacle of David, as well as Vice President of the Case Credit Union Board of Directors. Upon his retirement from the Case Credit Union Board, they dedicated a community room in his honor in July of 1992. Marshall joined the Lansing Church of God in Christ and soon became a member of the trustee board and remained a member there until his transition. During this time his beloved wife, Ouida was diagnosed with Dementia, and he had the pleasure of caring for her.

Marshall is survived by his loving wife, two children and his brother, Arthur.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Martha and siblings Billy, Henry, Albert, Mattie Joyce, Fanny, Alretta, Emma, and Carrie.
