Mary Allen-Moore (Lansing)

Mrs. Mary Allen-Moore passed away Friday, November 5, 2021, at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 65 years. She was born December 18, 1955, in Dobsonville, Mississippi, to parents, Roscoe Bluette and Allie Mae Allen.

Mary attended Lansing Community College (LCC) and Michigan State University (MSU) at which she received her bachelor’s in science. With this degree she worked at Ingham Regional Medical Center, now known as McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital, for 20 years as a Registered Nurse (RN). Mary also worked at the Ingham County Care facility and was a private care giver to Dr. Combs.

She loved all animals, but her favorites were dogs, birds, and squirrels. Love of animals lead Mary to get her degree in veterinary sciences as well. Mary volunteered often, mainly at the Supreme Court Hall of Justice. She was a faithful member in her church and acted as an usher for many years.

Mary adored the musical groups Earth, Wind & Fire and Maroon 5.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Jacqueline (Kevin) Rogan of Lansing, Michigan; sons, Everic Allen and Kareem Moore of Lansing, Michigan; step-children, Torria, Iesha, Joe Lee (Debra), Lorenzo, Barry, Alexander, and Lawrence of Syracuse, New York; grandchildren, Brianna Allen (Bre), Anastacia Williams, Nakia Taylor (Old Girl), Mariah Moore, Darius Taylor (Old Man), and Lorenzo Moore; great-grandchildren, Dante Smith, JaylaAnn Taylor, Harmony Williams, and BellaGrace Taylor; four sisters, Minnie Carthagen, Rosie Washington, Sandra Jackson-Osborne, and Victoria Ryan; three brothers, David Allen, Robert Allen, and Christopher Allen; niece, Patricia (Anthony) Pugh (Polly) and great-nieces, Porsha, Tierra, Dominique, Sarah and Lakeya; nephews, Jerry, Homer (Lakesha), Fred, Michael (Melissa), Tamper (Francis), Tyler, Travis, Anthony, Tray, and great-nephew, Rory (Tori); aunts, Buff Mae Sanders, Bobbie-Jean Hill, Baylee Kinnebrew; uncles, George Allen, Kleave Allen, and Lil’ Jone Allen; many cousins; mother and father-in-law; Willie Mae and Walter Joe Moore; three sisters-in-law, Mary Louise, Laura Lee (McKinley), and Linda all of Tennessee; and brothers-in-law, Jimmy, Lawrence, and Deray all of Tennessee.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Moore, Jr.; mother and father, Allie Mae Allen and Roscoe Bluette of Dobsonville, Mississippi; brother, Henry Allen of Lansing, Michigan; sister, Annie Allen of Lansing, Michigan; nephews, Melvin and Tyrone of Lansing, Michigan; and brothers-in-law, James, Aldo, and Theodore, all of Tennessee.
