Mary Anita Guerra Eguia

Mrs. Mary Anita Guerra Eguia passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. Age 60 years. She was born on June 28, 1957 in Saginaw, Michigan to Salvador, Sr. and Juanita Guerra.

Mary attended Saginaw Public Schools and was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1975. She was employed as a social worker for the State of Michigan, Department of Health and Human Services. Mary was married to Francisco Equia in October, 1982. She was affiliated with Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Mary loved to sing, bake and spend time working on her family tree, which she did using all media which was available to her. Mary was a cheerful, friendly person who always had a smile. She was a great fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions. Mary touched many lives, helping anyone she could. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish loving memories her husband, Francisco Eguia, Saginaw, Michigan; one sister, Graciela Guerra (Jerry) Kuchar; three brothers, Salvador (Dinah) Guerra, Jr., Reynaldo (Carolynn) Guerra and Ramiro (Annie Guerra; one sister-in-law, Adriana Eguia Herrera; many other relatives including aunts, uncles, cousins nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved; she leaves many special friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Salvador Guerra, Sr., nephew, Richardo Bernal DeLaGarza, Jr., and sister-in-law, Gloria Eguia Guzman.
