Mary E Jones

Mrs. Mary Evelyn Jones passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011. Age 80 years. She was born September 7, 1930 in Oakland,Tennesee to William (Joe) and Goldie Mae Scott.
Mary was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for over 50 years. During those 50 years she served on the Usher Board, Mission Department and the Kitchen. She was retired from Profit Food Company formerly known as Greyhound Food after 25 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, she loved and saw the good in everyone.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Charley Jones; son, Charles W. Jones; daughter, Annie (Lehoney) Simmons; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Porter-Jones; fourteen grandchildren, Anthony (Terry) Polk Sr., Saginaw, MI, Jacqueline Williams-Stone, Dallas, TX, Robert Wilkins, Bay City, MI, Kimberly Porter, Des Moines, IA; Anthony Wilson, Saginaw, MI, Charles Trautman, Henderson, NV, Ashanti Porter, Des Moines, IA, D'Wana (Barry) Hovious, Des Moines, IA, Charles W. Porter, Des Moines, IA, Kathy, Saginaw, MI, Cherish Smith, Saginaw, MI, Taline Amos-Bell, Indianapolis, IN, Omari Porter, Indianapolis, IN; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Coin, Memphis,TN; one brother, John W. (Kay) Baidy; two sisters-in-law, Annie Arnold, Saginaw, MI, Cora Harris, Oakland, TN; one brother-in-law, John Rose, Monroe, MI; many godchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a special nephew whom she raised as her own son, Charles Thompson, Detroit, MI.
Mary was preceded in death by father, William (Joe) Scott; mother, Goldie Mae Baidy; step-father, Sanford Baidy; two grandchildren, Aaron Porter, Latasha Jones; two brothers, Charles Thompson, Silas Scott; two sisters, Olivia Ransaw and Eliza Burnetta Rose.
