Mrs. Mary Ann Hatchett passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at the age of 59. Mary Ann was born February 9, 1965, in Brandon, Mississippi, to Floyd B. and Mary Louise Mims.
Mary Ann, “Rose, Hey Beautiful” is how she was known by so many. Mary Ann had a smile that could brighten any room. She was so full of life. Mary Ann enjoyed traveling, cooking, dancing, singing, and spending time with her friends and family.
Mary Ann was a graduate of Saginaw High School Class of 1984. She went on to further her education at Delta College. She was a faithful member of Rosehill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Murry Culberson. Mary Ann was married to her husband Clarence Hatchett for 28 years before his passing. She was a member of Mother’s with Angels in Heaven. She spent many years in healthcare before following her passion for working with children. She was also employed as a Transportation Supervisor at SPA and a bus driver for Saginaw Schools.
Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memory three daughters and three sons, Crussandra (Victor) Ivy, Jackson, Mississippi, Ruby (Derrick) Carter, Troy, Alabama, Clarence, Christopher, and Correan Hatchett, and Camilla Townsend; grandchildren, Kiara Ammons, Mya Mims, Jayla Quincy, Joey Quincy Jr., Clarence Hatchett III, Aubrianna, Amara, Alani, and Christopher Hatchett Jr., Alexis, and Jasmine Carter, Kermesha (Willie) Parham, De’Quavis Mitchell, Jermery Hatchett, John Jenkins, Daniel Abraham Jr., Dominique Cope, Laiana Morales, Kanani Herber, Jennan Doughty, and Cottreal Cornellius Jr.; great grandchildren, Jovonni Outland, and Tyquarius Cunningham; mother, Mary Mims; four sisters, Yolanda (Martel) Harris, Brandon, Mississippi, Yolanthe (Bruce) Brown, Ackworth, Georgia, Tina Taylor, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Tyrhonda Mims, Saginaw, Michigan; four brothers, Floyd B. Jr., Willis (Sabrina) Mims, Tyrone Mims, and Brandon Mims; godaughters, Shanika Greer, and Briana Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; many other relatives and friends including special friends, godbrother, Michael Silver; godsisters, Jessie Powell, and Michelle Stewart.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hatchett Sr.; daughter, Cherise Hatchett; father, Floyd B. Mims Sr.; sister, Debra Mims; niece, Lakeisha Harris; nephew, Da’Quan Mims; grandparents, James (Maggie) Essex, and Robert (Ruby) Mims; mother and father-in-law, Annie Bell Collins, and Columbus Hatchett; and special friend, Sheryl Williams.
