Mary J Williams

August 2, 1917 — March 26, 2011

Mary Jester Rice Williams (affectionately known as Sis) passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011. Age 93. She was born August 2, 1917 in Panola, Alabama to Notie Speight and William Rice.
As a young child, Mary attended Salem Baptist Church where she accepted Christ as Lord & Savior. She later joined Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor K.M. Merkerson and continued her service under Pastor Robert B. Corley Jr. Mother Williams was a dedicated supporter and faithfully served on the Usher Board until her health failed her. She retired from Morley Brothers of Saginaw. Mary enjoyed watching wresting and baseball on television and loved entertaining her family and friends. Mary was the proud mother of Reverend W. L. (Dub) Rice who preceded her in joining Christ in 1982. Mary was the wife of Lloyd Williams who preceded her to meet Christ in 1994. She was also the stepmother of three children, Lloyd Jr., Roberta Jackson, and Clarence (Connie) Williams who provided care for Mary until her transition on March 26, 2011.
In addition to her stepchildren, she leaves to mourn four sisters, Veosie Cox, Corrine Baker, Elizabeth (Ernest) Allen, Vadie Jones; one brother, Tommy (Frances) Carpenter; grandchildren, Ella B, Gladys, Versey, Elvin (Red), Sakina, William III,
Glenda, Brenda, Lance, Ernest, Cathy, Rochelle; godchildren, Saul (Sue) Rancher, Bobby Rancher, Billy Rancher, Pastor Johnnie F. Rancher; brothers-in-law, Arthur, Luther and Napoleon Williams, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special great grandson, Montrell, great granddaughters, Teonna and Ceondra, special nephew, Raymond (Clara) Hicks; friend, Lonnie Booker; one lifetime buddy, Daisy (Peter) Taylor of Saginaw, Michigan.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, stepmother and grandparents.
