Ms. Mary Jane Hare left this world on June 6, 2023, leaving family, friends, and loyal clients behind. Mary was an exceptional cosmetologist/instructor who brought beauty and confidence to countless lives.
Born on July 8, 1946, Mary discovered her passion for hairstyling at the age of 17 while she attended beauty college after graduating from high school. She went on to start Pretty Girl Beauty Salon in 1968. It was clear that she possessed an innate talent and an artistic touch the moment she picked up a comb and shears. Her journey to become a renowned hair beautician began.
Mary dedicated her life to the art of hairstyling perfecting her skills through years of hard work and devotion. She had a keen eye for understanding each client's unique personality and desires. Her empathetic nature allowed her to connect with clients, building trust and long-lasting relationships.
Her family, friends, clients, and the wider hairstyling community will deeply feel Mary's absence. Her infectious laughter, warm personality, and ability to make others feel beautiful from the inside out will forever be cherished. The memories created in her salon will remain as testaments to her unparalleled skill and the love she poured into her craft.
While we grieve the loss of Mary, let us celebrate the incredible life she led and the memorable mark she left on the world of hairstyling. Her spirit will continue to inspire us, reminding us of the transformative power of beauty and the importance of pursuing our passions with unwavering dedication.
Mary leaves behind two sisters, Florida Pruitt and Letha Hare, one brother, Wilbert (Deborah) Hare, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, (Ether B. Hare and Floyd Hare); two sisters, Maudie Lewis and Lafrancine Phillips; two brothers, Bobby Hare and Lewis Hare; two nephews, Arthur L. Lewis and Cager Pruitt Jr; and a brother-in-law, Cager Pruitt Sr.
