Ms. Mary Lee Cooper Dunn made her transition on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Covenant HealthCare Harrison. Age 96 years. She was born October 11, 1926, in Stamps, Arkansas to the union of Chine Cooper and Drucilla Evans Cooper.
The family moved to Saginaw, Michigan when Mary was two years old. She attended Saginaw Public Schools and graduated from Saginaw High School, Class of 1944. Ms. Dunn accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was an avid reader of the Bible and was a prayer warrior. Ms. Dunn enjoyed painting landscapes and "still life" on canvas with oil. She continued to paint during her residency at Saginaw Senior Care & Rehabilitation Center. Ms. Dunn will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She leaves to cherish loving memories four nephews, Erick J. Cooper, Flint, Michigan, Kirk M. Houze, Saginaw, Michigan, Reginald Cooper and Adrian Cooper, Grand Rapids, Michigan; nine nieces, Susan C. Addison, Drucilla K. Thomas, Tina M. Houze, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Gayle (James) Ragston, Otisville, Michigan, Lita (Michael) Coles, Fort Worth, Texas, Joycelyn, Lynn, Marla Cooper Harris, Nikki (Calvin) Brooks, all of Saginaw, Michigan; cousins, Charlotte Henderson, and Eugene Evans, Saginaw, Michigan; two godsons, Alonzo Taylor, Jr., and Melvin Brown of Saginaw, Michigan; her devoted caregivers, Regina Lindsey, and Rosie Robinson; many other relatives and special friends including Mother Lydia Bishop and Louise Jones.
Ms. Dunn was preceded in death by her parents, Chine and Drucilla Cooper; two sons, Charles Clifford Dunn, and Craig Charles Dunn; one brother, Ernest Cooper, and one sister, Ernestine Howell.
The family of Mary Cooper Lee Dunn appreciates the many kind expressions of love and concern extended to them during this time of bereavement. We extend special thanks to the staff at Adira Nursing Home, Saginaw Senior Rehabilitation Center, Covenant HealthCare, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
In accordance with Ms. Dunn's wishes, cremation has taken place; a service is not planned.
