Tuesday, July 16, 2013 was the homegoing for Mary Lou Townsend. She was born April 22, 1934 in Troy, Alabama to William and Annie McNeal.
Mary Lou married Mr. L.C. Townsend on February 7, 1951. Together they shared 62 years of wedded bliss. She was a faithful member of New Life Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Rufus Bradley. Mary Lou enjoyed going to church and working with the culinary committee. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and always enjoyed cooking meals for them. Her presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, L.C. Townsend; children, Dorothy Tyler, David Mack, Jeffrey (Barbara) Townsend, Pat (Mack) Young, Leonia Fairley, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Michael (Valerie) Townsend of Lake Worth, Florida; two sisters, Bertha McBride of Houston,Texas, Mariah (James) McKinley; seven grandchildren, Tamarian, Chris Jr., Quincy, James, Troy, Dominick and LaKeshia; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie McNeal, three brothers, Dudley, Eddie and William McNeal, one son, Chris, two grand-daughters, Aricka and Latoya Tyler.
