Ms. Mary Louise Wildfong went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the age of 75 years. She was born on August 7, 1941 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Sandy Cooper and Elsie Thornton.
Mary was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Saginaw High School, and was a member of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eddie Jackson. Mary enjoyed cooking, traveling, bingo, going to the casino and fishing. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a foster parent for many years, and she was a former First Lady of Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church during the pastorate of her late husband, Reverend Edwin Wildfong.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, two daughters, Angela Brooks and Lamiesha Wildfong, Saginaw, Michigan; three sons, Odell Brown and Matthew Wildfong, Grand Rapids, Michigan, McKinley Wildfong, Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Tasha Cooper and Odell James Brown, Grand Rapids, Michigan; great-grandchildren, JonQuale Cooper, Javin White and JaNiyah White, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan; two sisters, Margret Cooper, Gary, Indiana, Grace Dallas, Niles, Michigan; three brothers, Sandy Cooper and Kenny Cooper of Gary, Indiana and Walter Weaver; nieces, LaShawn Vann, Louisville, Kentucky, Sherna Goodson-Dallas and Vonda Ballard, Niles, Michigan; nephews, Tommie Austin, Oceanside, California, Ronald Orange, Niles, Michigan and Darrel Vann, Saginaw, Michigan; aunt, Ellie Thornton; many uncles; cousins, Doris Logan, Erma Tuckenberry, Linda Berry and family; other relatives and friends including special friends, Carol Hood, Carolyn Hayes, Gloria Wilson, Bertha Anderson, Maurice Woods, Lisa Brewer, Sanders, Brown and Rankin family, Chris Johnson, Eddie Woods, M. Scott and Silas Brazil.
Mrs. Wildfong was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Edwin Wildfong; mother, Elsie Brown; father, Sandy Cooper; sister, Barbara Vann, and goddaughter, Sharon Vann.
The family would like to express special thanks to Ms. Exsie Chandler for the loving care of Mrs. Wildfong and for being there during her illness.
