Once again, the Lord has called another one of his servants, the very Mary Catherine Thomas who entered into rest June 21, 2015 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper at the age of 66 years. Mary was born December 25, 1948 in Muskegon, Michigan to Obie Washington, Sr. and Gertis Holmes Washington. Mary was a beloved and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many! She was loved!
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Randy Thomas, four children, Gordon (Kiki) Thomas, Jackie Thomas, Jabbar (LaTonja) Thomas, Jauq-ee (Adrian) Terry. Fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren with two on the way! She also leaves to cherish her memory her brothers and sisters, Obie (Mary) Washington Jr, Gloria Dean Wilson, Priscilla (Toot) Percy-Curry, Luegene Washington, Jerry (Tulu) Washington, Lois Washington, and Debra Washington-McKenzie; she leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Obie Washington, Sr. and Gertis Holmes Washington; three sisters, Gertie Fletcher, Ertie Preston, and Gloria George; three nephews, Stephen Times, Glenn Washington and Obie Wilson; two very special and loving nieces Kara Lee and Jammetta Washington; one great-niece, Marlise Thomas.
The family would like to express special thanks to two special granddaughters, Mary Amber Richards and Myia Ambi Thomas; two special nieces Terri Baskfield and Tanya Times; a special nephew, Derrick Times; special friends, Barbara Tolliver, Wilma Gean Donald, Ebony Russell and Jasmine Davis; and a very special sister-in-law, Paula Elaine Thomas
