Marzilla Wiggins

Marzilla was born April 7, 1921 in Lanett Alabama, the third child of Jimmie and Robert E. Lee.
Marzilla accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fairfield, Alabama. She married Ellis Wiggins Sr. in 1939 and to this union three children were born. Together with her husband she moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1942 to enrich her children. They united with the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where she served as chairperson of the "Church Anniversary" for two years and chairperson of the Men and Women's Day Program. Always serving faithfully until her health began to fail.
Marzilla graduated from the Midland School of Nursing where she received her L.P.N. and received her degree for Registered Nurse from Delta College. She was on the Dean's list. She was hired by the Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital and worked there for twenty-five years. She loved gardening, cooking, spending time with her family and friends and good conversation with her husband. She was faithful and able to improvise in any given situation. She loved and was loved by all who knew her. She would always say, "thank you" for everything.
She leaves to celebrate her home going her devoted husband of 72 years, Ellis Wiggins Sr.; one son, Roddrick (Bervia) Wiggins, Kosciusko, Mississippi; one daughter, Jimmie M. Kendrick, Jesup, Georgia; one daughter-in-law, Carlather Smith-Wiggins, Saginaw, Michigan; ten grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends including special friends, Jeanne Haller, Edith Roberts, Rosemary Sperback, Clauda Ratecliff and Vernice Jackson.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ellis Wiggins Jr.
Marzilla will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
