Mattie Bond

Ms. Mattie M. Bond departed this earthly life for her place in the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, June 15, 2015. Age 70 years. She was born September 13, 1944 in Jackson, Tennessee the daughter of Ben and Emma Jane Ingram.
Mattie relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in March 1971. After graduating high school, she furthered her education by attending Saginaw Valley State University and Delta College. After several years of faithful service, Mattie retired from General Motors Corporation of Defiance, Ohio on May 1, 1996. She held also several positions with various companies such as: Modern Metal Fabrication of Saginaw, Michigan, AC Spark Plug of Flint, Michigan, Saginaw Steering Gear Division of Athens, Alabama, Grey Iron/Nodular Foundry of Saginaw, Michigan, DEFOE Detective and Security Agency of Detroit, Michigan, EPICUREAN Lodge of Saginaw, Michigan and BEMIS Textile Company of Bemis, Tennessee. Mattie was a member of the Daughters of I.B.P.O.E. of W. Charlotte Ray Temple No. 549 and UAW Retired Workers Chapter Local 668. Mattie held active memberships within the community. She also was a member of the Neighborhood Watch, the Buena Vista Community Center, Saginaw Habitat for Humanity and the Old Timers Club at First Ward Community Center. She was a member of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Otis Washington. Mattie enjoyed bingo and studying the word of God. She was a well-dressed woman who was family oriented and a lover of people. Those who knew her found her to be very talkative. Her presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memory her children, Dotrice Ingram of Saginaw, Michigan, Vectra (Vincent) Harris of Chesterfield, Michigan and Cottawanna (Bill) Morgan of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Latora and Joseph Ingram, John Essex, Duran Lowe all of Saginaw, Michigan, Vincent (Jennifer) Harris of Harrison Township, Michigan and Vinette Harris of Chesterfield, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Ray'Ven Ingram-Wooley and JaSarryha Essex both of Saginaw, Michigan; seven sisters, Annie Ingram of Flint, Michigan, Bonzie Ingram, Barbara Ingram, Debra (Robert) Easley and Mary Fuller all of Jackson, Tennessee, Gussie Senter of Nashville, Tennessee and Rose (Wayne) Love of Chicago, Illinois; three brothers, Robert (Ann) Ingram and Jerry Ingram both of Jackson, Tennessee, Nathaniel Ingram of Erie, Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Emma Jane Ingram, one nephew, Kennell Love.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Marletha Harris Barnes and everyone who offered kind words and condolences.
