Mrs. Maybelle Gray was born August 2, 1956 in Fayette, Mississippi to Caroline Anderson and Sylvester Wallace. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. Age 62 years.
Maybelle was a woman who loved her family and loved people. She was a nurturer, provider and caretaker. As a registered nurse, she fulfilled her passion and purpose by helping those in need. She was employed by Covenant Healthcare-Harrison, Hoyt Nursing Home and Saginaw Geriatrics. She was very loving and caring, always helping someone in need.
Maybelle and her husband, Tommy Gray, Sr. were together for forty-four years and married for forty-two of those years. Tommy was her rock and her best friend. The two of them were inseparable. When she knew her time was near to transition, she often said “Make sure you take care of my baby.”
Maybelle loved her grandchildren and found peace spending time with them. She would hide her pain and what she was going through because she never wanted to appear weak or broken in their eyes. She always wanted to see them happy.
In the end, Maybelle didn’t want to be a burden to anyone. She did not want her children or husband to be stressed. She made up in her mind that she was ready to go home to be with her mother and sisters. She asked for forgiveness as she prepared to meet them in the sky and then breathed her last breath.
Maybelle was preceded in death by her parents, Caroline Anderson and Sylvester Wallace; sisters, Lucille O’Quinn, Ruby Johnson, Nora O’Neal, Mary O’Quinn, Helen Anderson; brother, Albert Fleming.
She leaves to celebrate her life her loving husband of forty-two years, Tommy Ray Gray, Sr.; daughter, Sharisse Michelle Earls; sons, Tommy Jr., Tim Gray; grandchildren, Jaquavius T. Box, Jaquan Ray Earls, Briana Denae Boyle, Alisha Michelle Gray, Keyvon Duane Phillips, Jakobe LaShuan Cooper-Gray; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Anderson, Juanita Gibson, Christine Johnson, Jean (Eddie Lee) Dorsey, Carla Wallace; brothers, Randy (Carolyn) Anderson, James (Mary) Fleming, Ray Wallace, Paul Williams, Robert (Keshia) Scott, Carl Wallace, Fred (Tuffe) Woodard, Darin Woodard, Sylvester (Carolyn) Scott; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
