Mayola Childress

Childress, Mayola, Saginaw, MI – Mayola Childress, affectionately known as "Sweet," passed away on  April 28, 2024, at the age of 75. She was born on December 27, 1948, to L.C. Harris, Sr., and Mattie B. Harris (Smith) in Inverness, Mississippi.

She leaves to cherish her memories four children, Ronnie (Ruth) Childress, Semo (Pamara) Childress, Consuela (Tavarse) Little, and Heather (Chester) Surles; grandchildren, Ronnie Smith, Jordan Childress, Mya Childress, Shantoy Childress, Tiani Givens, Deperrion Martin, Briana (Isaiah) Gallardo, and Chester Surles, IV; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Ruth (Marlon) Frazier; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, including niece, Danielle Diggs, with whom she had a special relationship.

Mayola was preceded death by her husband, Semo W. Childress, III; her son, Bretton A. Childress; her granddaughter, Brittney Childress; her parents; and her siblings, Chris Harris, L.C. Harris, Jr., and Lola Simpson.

Honoring Mayola’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held.
