Melissa Lynn Williams

Ms. Melissa Lynn Williams passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at her residence. Age 48 years. She was born on August 7, 1968 in Saginaw, Michigan.
Melissa attended Saginaw Public Schools including Jones, Central Jr. High and Saginaw High Schools, and was a graduate of Ruben Daniels Lifelong Learning Center, Class of 1993. She was employed at D.E.B. AFC 1. Melissa was known for the way she pronounced the word trust. She had a special way of saying trust that drew the attention of everyone who heard her say it. Melissa loved to cook and she was an excellent hostess. She was a member of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Otis Washington. Melissa loved Vacation Bible School. Her joy was to teach the preschoolers her babies as she called them. She loved children and oftentimes gathered up her nieces and nephews to spend the night. Melissa will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, two daughters, Brandi and Mia Williams; mother, Gwendolyn Lavender; one brother, Terrance (Lisa) Wright; two sisters, Thalia Williams and Kim Wright; four aunts, Joyce Williams, Joan Nickleberry, Lynn Smith and Evelyn Reed; one great-aunt, Oradean Boykins; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; her childhood friends, Michelle Smith and Kim Porter; her special sister friends, Deb Martin, Wanda Pipkins and Carla Wilson.
Melissa was preceded in death by many relatives and friends.
