Mr. Menort Troy Sims departed this earthly life for his place in the kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, May 10, 2015. Age 58 years. He was born August 1, 1956 in Greenville, Mississippi to Alma and George Sims.
Menort was a resident of Midland, Michigan. He retired from General Motors Corporation after twenty-six years of service. Menort loved spending time with friends and family, riding his motorcycle, cooking and grilling. He was an amazing singer who always kept a positive outlook on life. His positive spirit always rubbed off on those who came in contact with him. His wonderful presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters and one son, Kerstin, Tasha and Hudell Paul; grandchildren, Neilya M. Paul-Delgado, Rostin R. Paul-Delgado, Silviann M. Paul-Delgado, Lucionno and Savadionno Finley, Yazmine Paul, Rose Paul, Laurentay Paul and Lawrenzio Paul; nine sisters, Norma Chatman and Annette Sims both of Greenville, Mississippi, Cleo Jones, Daaiyah Mohammd, Delores Sims-Henry and Doris Urbain all of Saginaw, Michigan, Joyce Sims and Helen Fife both of Detroit, Michigan and Clarice Davis of Atlanta, Georgia; four brothers, Bobby Sims of Midland, Michigan, Clyde Sims, Edward Sims and Williams Sims all of Saginaw, Michigan; thirty-six nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Betty and Barbara Sims; two brothers-in-law, Pete Jones and Larry Urbain; many other relatives and friends.
Menort was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alma Sims, one daughter, Jacqueline Tovar, one sister, Alma Tina Woods Sims and one brother, Jimmy Sims.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered condolences, kind words and prayers.
