Mervin Ray Gray (Lansing)

Mr. Mervin Ray Gray passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021, in Ferndale, Michigan. Age 44 years. He was born in Lansing, Michigan, one of two sons born on June 4, 1977, to his parents, Ronnie and Amelia Gray.

Mervin was raised in Lansing, Michigan, and attended Lansing Eastern High School and he later earned his GED from the Lansing School District. Mervin was employed by Metro Industrial building cars. He attended both Word of Life Church and Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Mervin was known to make everyone laugh and smile. He never had a frown on his face. Mervin was the life of the party. He was also a big family man; the kids loved and adored him. Mervin loved fashion; you would always see him dressed his best. He was a huge foodie as well. Mervin enjoyed his sister, Maria’s cooking over anything though. He loved joking around and listening to good music.

Mervin leaves to cherish his memory his 2 daughters, Jazmin Darling and Debra Fletcher; 2 sons, Jordan Gray and Justus Gray; his parents, Ronnie and Amelia Gray; sister, Maria Gray-Holt; 4 brothers, Ronnie Gray, his twin, Marvin Gray, Rolando Gray, and Raymond Gray; 9 nieces, Korryn Love, Schyanna Hernandez, Esmeralda Hernandez, Cierra Gray, Maria Lisa Love, Maria Concepcion Love, Maria Bella Love, Karmen Walker, and Navaeh Torrence; 5 nephews, Cameron Gray, Ronald Thompson, Justin Nichols, Trevin Nichols, and Kevin Gray; 2 aunts, Consuelo Gonzales and Esperanza Trevino; 5 uncles, Charles (Kathy) Gray, Jerry (Jeanette) Gray, Jose Trevino, Alejandro Trevino, and Juan Trevino; many cousins, other relatives, and friends including special friends, David Armstrong, Rachel Rogers, and Dawna Smith.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angel Gray; son, Devin Gray; grandparents, Juan and Maria Concepcion Trevino, Sr., Isaiah and Ethel Gray; aunts, Rosa Trevino, Dora Trevino, Yolonda Trevino, Georgia Washington, June Butler, Barbara Jean Smith, Ethel Washington, Helen Johnson, and Judy Gray; uncle, Orby Gray; cousins, Vivian Johnson, Phyllis Washington, Ethel Owens, and Margaret Bernice Jones; nieces, Lauren Walker and Kalie Walker; nephew, Kaine Walker; and special friend, James Edward Jones.
