Michael Herndon

Our beloved brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, Micheal Duane Herndon went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 22, 2023, at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 65 years. He was born to military parents, Hayward and Queen Esther Herndon, in Germany.

Michael was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He was well-known as “Mighty Mike.” He was an icon; a funny type of guy. Micheal attended Saginaw Public Schools and was a Saginaw High School Trojan. Micheal worked for General Motors (Saginaw Parts Plant) and was affiliated with UAW Local 668. He was also employed at Olive Garden. Micheal enjoyed “Old School” music such as Cameo, Average White Band, and Anita Baker. He also loved the Detroit Lions and dressing sharp to look good in anything he put on. He loved his beautiful dog, Kool-Aid. Mighty Mike will be missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.

He leaves to cherish loving memories two daughters, Dorinda Garcia II, Indianapolis, Indiana, Natalie of Farmington Hills, Michigan; one son, Karamicheal Herndon, Grand Rapids, Michigan; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Deborah Herndon Guerrero, and Yvonne Herndon; two nephews, Quincy and Anthony Guerrero; and one niece, Jada Herndon, all of Saginaw, Michigan. He also leaves a very dear friend, Dolores Houston; and many other relatives and special friends including Steve Glass, Terry Adams, Landon Taylor, and Danny Norman.

Micheal was preceded by his father and mother, Hayward and Queen Esther Herndon; three brothers, Anthony, Howard, and Rodney Herndon; grandfather, William Ivey II; grandmother, Alberta Ivey; two uncles, William Ivey III, and Eddy Jack Cobourn; one aunt, Betty Cobourn; one cousin, Vicky Baber.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be a service.
