Michael Mason

Mr. Michael Joe Mason was born February 22, 1941 in Carrier Mills, Illinois, the son of Frank Mason, Jr. and Beulah Ann Earl Keene. He passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 78 years.

Michael graduated from Saginaw High School, “Class of 1959.” After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for four years before being honorably discharged. He later worked for the Saginaw Board of Education and then ABM, from where he retired.

Michael loved fishing, listening to music, playing pool and dominoes. He loved his Lincoln Town Car and taking road trips. He was a fun person to be around and he was very loving. He took care of a lot of people, including raising his sister's children after she died. His love for life and beautiful spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Mason, Jr. and Beulah Ann Earl Keene; sister, Sharon Ann Mason Snell.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Geraldine Arthur; two daughters, Michael Mason, Flint, Michigan, LaKisha Gillespie, Saginaw, Michigan; four sons, Leslie Mason, Atlanta, Georgia, Dwayne Mason, Detroit, Michigan, Michael Plair, Cincinatti, Ohio, Randolph Gillespie, Chicago, Illinois; his sisters’ children that he raised, Dana, Deidre, Darin, Denene, Delano Snell; nineteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; his loving companion and caretaker, Darlene Gillespie; sister-in-law, Charlene Gillespie; many cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends Claude Macon and the Ninth Street Family.
