Mildred Jean Wilburn

February 2, 1951 — November 26, 2019

Ms. Mildred Jean Wilburn was born February 2, 1951 in Helena, Arkansas, the daughter of John Edgar and Mildred Jean Johnson. She answered the call of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the age of 68 years.

Mildred was a graduate of Saginaw High School and later attended Delta College. She pursued a career in healthcare and worked at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital as a CNA for many years. She was full of compassion and empathy so taking care of others was second nature to her.

Mildred loved to have a good time. She enjoyed dancing, singing, gardening, modeling and shopping. Most of all, she enjoyed serving and praising the Lord. Nothing brought her greater joy or peace than being in the presence of her God. Mildred had a beautiful soul and sweet spirit that will never be duplicated. She will truly be missed.

Mildred was preceded in death by her father, John Edgar Johnson, Jr.; baby sister, Kishna Lynn Johnson; former spouse, Ronald Weston Wilburn.

She leaves a lifetime of memories with her two children, Xerdodra Ronyetta Taylor “Day Day”, Jerry Duane Sims, Jr.; mother, Mattie Mae Johnson; godchildren, Shawtell Jackson, Danielle Diggs, Antonio Price; grandchildren, Centera Scott, Cierra Morris, Sir Tray-Bryce Sears; great-grandchildren, Grayson Morris and Aimone’e Scott; sisters, Drueada Johnson, Connie Harvey, Mary Johnson, Henrietta Watson, Jackie Wilburn, Denise Wilburn, Ruthie Doster, Bonnie Price, Paula Thomas; brothers, John E. Johnson III, Michael Johnson; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Mulpuri, MCVI, Dr. B., Pastors Taurus and Darlene Simpson and Daniels Den Ministries, Pastor Hurley Coleman Jr. and World Outreach Campus, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
