Ms. Minnie Lee Haley peacefully passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 91 years. She was born May 16, 1929 to Sandie and Mary Woods in Pywappity, Missouri.
Minnie lived in Lansing Delta Township with her niece and her husband, Cheryl and Edward Panasewicz for the last ten years of her long-blessed life.
Minnie worked as a housekeeper in several hotels and county clubs in Detroit, Michigan and Colorado Springs, Colorado before returning to Michigan. She also worked as a receptionist and billing associate in her husband’s Haley’s Automobile Repair Garage in Detroit, Michigan. Minnie’s favorite genres of music was gospel and the blues. Although, Minnie had no children of her own, she was known as a “mother” to many throughout her lifetime. Minnie accepted Christ into her life at a very young age. She once again accepted the Lord into her life just before passing. There was no one who met Minnie that did not love, respect, and adore her. She was a very kind and loving person who greeted everyone with a beautiful smile.
Minnie leaves to cherish her memory stepdaughter, Patricia Haley; niece, Cheryl (Edward) Panasewicz; great-nieces, LaTonya of Little Elm, Texas, Yvette, Joya, Yolanda, Bettina, and Lolita; great-nephew, Lothario; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Yancy Haley; stepchildren, Yancy, Jr., Doreatha and Raymond Haley; great-nephews, John Jackson, Jr., Christopher and Michael Burrows.
