Mother Bobbie Jean Perkins transitioned to a better life on August 17, 2020. She was born on May 18, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri to Albert and Mary Lee Hudgins.

Mother Bobbie Jean Perkins attended Muskegon Public Schools and later moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where she met her beloved husband Freddie Perkins. In 1968 they became a resident of Lansing, Michigan, where she was employed by and retired from the Lansing School District. She was a God fearing, faithful member of New Hope Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Willie Wade. She passionately served as the Pastor’s secretary, a choir member, a nurses aide and on the Mother’s Board. She was also an Eastern Star member.

Mother Bobbie Jean Perkins leaves to cherish her memories her faithful husband Freddie Perkins; children, Patricia Hudgins, Russell Jones, Darlene (Curtis) Minor, Glen Jones, Rodney Jones all of Lansing, Michigan, Vanessa Jones of Memphis, Tenessee, Bryant (Monika) Jones of Lucedale, Mississippi, Freddie Davis (Shonda) Perkins, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina, Cynthia (Bobby) Springer of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Janice (Julian) Mais of Kingston Jamaica; three brothers, Albert (Peggy) Hudgins of Florida, Gregg Hudgins of Muskegon, Michigan, and Ralph (Sharon) Hudgins of St. Louis,Missouri; nine sisters, Dorothy (Arthur) Billings, Ollie Williams, Deloris Rucker, Joyce Hudgins, Janet (Curtis) Scott, all of Muskegon, Michigan, Valerie Hudgins, Patricia Woods, Sheila Ivory, all of St Louis, Missouri, and Carolyn Hudgins of Chicago, Illinois; five sister-in-laws, Deola, Aldonia, Kate, Katherine and Lena; two brother-in-laws, George and Joe both from Mississippi; a loving and devoted granddaughter, LaTorria “Nikki” Sanders; grandchildren, Teeven, Rekeesha, Precious, Rodney Jr., Alaya, Timeri, Triston, Brittney, Jillian, LaTora and Nicholas; great grandchildren, Mikeise (her love), De’Ajah (her right hand), Apollo (Big Ma’s dude), Jade (Miss Busy), Kaycee and Katona; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Special and dedicated friends, Jackie Day, Lillie Franklin, Virgie Milton and Linda Shane; special adopted daughters Melissa Dunlap, Sandra Jones, Bernice Porter and Bobbie Washington and her New Hope church family.

She was proceeded in death by her mother and father; son, Teeven Jones; brothers, Rufus Hudgins and Wayne Hudgins; sister, Louise Sims; and granddaughter, Takara Jones.
