Mother Classie Lee Roland

March 7, 1931 — September 2, 2021

A Time To Be Born
Classie Lee Roland was born March 7, 1931 in Montgomery Alabama to the late J.C and Clara Mae Allen and after the passing of her birth mother, was loved and raised alongside her Father was her stepmom Clara Allen. From birth Classie was taught the ways of the Lord. She was baptized at a young age and found her way back to the house of the Lord when she joined Candle Light Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Jimmie Simington, where she served on the Mother’s Board. If you knew Classie, then you knew she loved her Church, Her Pastor and First Lady Mrs. Simington and always encouraged her family to come to church every Sunday

A Time To Love
As a child Classie’s roll in the family was ironing clothes, although some would argue that because she turned out to be an amazing cook, it is so. Classie would tell you that it took many tries until she got it right and it also took many of Papa Dorsey’s hard earned money as she would burn food, throw it away and have to run to the store to get more. Needless to say she eventually got it right and had become known for the many meals she would prepare not only for her family and friends but by the 25 years of service she dedicated as the Head Cook where she was employed at The Home for the Aged. She was passionate about cooking, serving and affecting the most positive change in people. She enjoyed preparing meals for any occasion for her family and friends, especially baking her famous cakes and pies. Before her late husband fell ill, you could find them out on the banks fishing. Before Classie’s health began to decline, you would find her spending majority of her time with family especially her grands and great grand children getting a kick out their silliness. Classie will be remembered most for the love she gave her family and friends as well as her church family. You could always count on her prayers, encouragement and most of all a hot meal.
