Ecclesiastes 3:1
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, November 3, 1930; a time to die, August 3, 2021. These are the dates chosen by our Heavenly Father for Mother Jessie B. Rembert to enter from her earthly domain into His eternal rest.
Mother Rembert, affectionately called “Jessie Bell” was the first-born of parents Jesse and Janie Jenkins in Bishopville, South Carolina where her life journey began. She married Tom Rembert, Sr. on October 11, 1947. They were married for 47 years. They came to Saginaw in May 1953 for gainful employment at General Motors. Mother Rembert remained a homemaker until she began working at Robinson Laundry for a few years, then later she started working at General Motors in 1969, retiring from Chevrolet Grey Iron after 26 years of service. She was a member of U.A.W. Local 668.
Mother Rembert was a former member of Bethlehem Temple Church for many years where she gave her life to Christ and received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. She later joined House of Prayer Church of the Apostolic Faith in 1995, and functioned as Mother of the Church under the Leadership of Elder James E. Lewis.
Mother Rembert enjoyed family gatherings where she took pride in preparing meals for the family and others. There was no limit to her generosity, whether it was family or otherwise. If she saw there was a need she could address, her heart would respond. She ministered as a prayer warrior, intercessor, and preached the Holy Ghost, always reminding us that “Without Holiness, no man shall see God.” She shared godly wisdom to all those that would listen. Even in her decline, Mother Rembert remained faithful to prayer and sharing the Word of God.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving five sons, Tom Jr. (Jackie) Rembert, Saginaw, Michigan, Victor (Cynthia) Rembert, Morrisville, North Carolina, James (Brenda) Rembert, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Robert (Cynthia) Rembert, Defiance, Ohio, Terry Rembert, Saginaw, Michigan; stepson, David Grant (Marva), Brooklyn, New York; one daughter, Colette McQueen, Findlay, Ohio; goddaughter, Linda Suggs, Saginaw, Michigan; siblings, Susanne March, New York, New York, Mae Thelma Joe, Irmo, South Carolina, Flora (Leland) Porter, Hackensack, New Jersey, Elder Robbie (Geneva) Jenkins, Columbia, South Carolina; 28 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a very dear cousin, Mrs. Blondell Prescott, Baltimore, Maryland; special friends, Helen Daniels, Louise Lee, both of Saginaw, Michigan.
Mother Rembert was predeceased by her husband, Tom Rembert, Sr.; one son, Jackie Rembert; one daughter, Pam Rembert; parents, Jesse and Janie Jenkins; sisters, Smiley Mae and Queen Elizabeth Lloyd; brother, James Jenkins; granddaughters, Jacqueline Williams and Tanisha Conley.
