December 25, 1927 — May 13, 2017

Mother Jessie B. Robbins was born on December 25, 1927 in McCloud, Mississippi to William and Matilda Robinson. She departed this earthly life to gain her heavenly reward on May 13, 2017 at Hoyt Nursing Home in Saginaw, Michigan.

Mother Robbins attended school in Pickens County, Alabama and came to Michigan at an early age. She married the love of her life, the late Rev. Alfred Robbins Jr., August 1946. They were blessed with five children from this union; John, Phoebe (Rosetta), Wayne, Linda, and Gary. She worked diligently at Saginaw General Hospital and was later employed at St. Marys Hospital as a patient transporter for many years. Mother Robbins retired from St. Marys Hospital in 1987 to care for her ailing husband. She exhibited the characteristics of Proverbs 31; a Virtuous Woman.

Mother Robbins was a devoted member of Greater Williams Temple and North Central Jurisdiction under the leadership of Emeritus Bishop H.J. Williams, Elder Arthur Aikin Sr., and Bishop J. Drew Sheard for many years where she served on various committees and auxiliaries. She was President of Young Women Christian Council. She also served on the Culinary Committee where she is known for Jessies Fried Chicken. She was an altar and communion attendant. Mothers Robbins sole desire was to PLEASE GOD.

She instilled godly values in her family and always had godly advice for anyone who would come to her for counseling. She was a prayer warrior with gifts of discernment and faith. She would often say, If you live for God, it is well. Mother Robbins was a woman of great faith she would often quote; Deuteronomy 31:6, Psalm 34:17-18, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 and 1 Peter 5:7-10.

She was an exceptional cook, seamstress, adviser, encourager, comforter, wife, mother, grandmother (Gram), great-grandmother (Nana), great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend; she was the epitome of a PHENOMENAL WOMAN.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Phoebe Seevers; sons, Elder Wayne (Angela) Robbins, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Gary (Patricia) Robbins, Flushing, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Joyce Robbins; sister, Mary Ellen Gilkey, St. Louis, Missouri; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and one due in September; caring nieces and nephews (sisters children); special God-children, Drayne Terry and Pamela J.
