Mother Lola Fleming

Mother Lola B. Fleming passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at her residence. Age 94 years. She was born January 23, 1922 in Headland, Alabama to Bennie and Headie Mae Hollis.

Lola B. Fleming moved to Saginaw, Michigan from Alabama in 1966 along with her husband. She was employed at Ramada Inn as a cook for over 20 years. She was a faithful member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor John Williams. She loved her church family. Mother Fleming enjoyed cooking and feeding family and friends. She also loved doing crossword puzzles. Mother Fleming was so proud of the fact that she had completed reading the whole Bible. She attended First Ward Senior Citizens group until her illness.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted and faithful daughter, Peggy (Robert) Scott; son, Andrew Fleming; daughter-in-law, Lou Ellen Fleming, all of Saginaw, Michigan; god-children, Jean (Ronald) Schwartz of Pontiac, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren, Robert Scott, Jr., Charmaine Scott, Carmelina Bell, Deon Fleming, Shena Fleming, Don Fleming, Jaqueline Fleming, Rosemary Bell, Shantale McClain, Marvell McClain, Tammy Camel, Alictia Vickers, Sherry Vickers; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, Symone Fleming, Ariana Scott, Kadesha Henderson, Shaviante Jackson, Latoya Bulger, Donavon Fleming, Junae Taylor, Raphael Taylor, Delvon Taylor and Jada Herndon; two brothers, Issac Hollis of Newark, New Jersey, Joseph Hollis of Pennsylvania; five sisters, Delia Brackin, Headland, Alabama, Ola B. Ford, Quincy, Florida, Carrie King of Georgia, Mary C. Hollis, Linden, New Jersey and Annette Thomas of North Carolina; many other relatives and friends including special friend, Royal Lee Holly, the Jackson Family, Scott family, Vickers family and her Bethany Street neighbors.

Mother Fleming was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Fleming, Sr.; son, Willie Fleming, Jr.; parents, Bennie and Headie Mae Hollis; two sisters, Delois Minnefield and Vela Patterson; two brothers, James Hollis, Ransom Hollis; sister, Virginia Hollis and step-mother, Versie Hollis.
