Ms. Pickett accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour many years ago. She united with Renaissance Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Nathaniel Calhoun; current pastor, Reverend Cedric Cheatham. Mamie enjoyed listening to spiritual music and the Blues, gardening, cooking, cleaning, traveling, dancing and telling tall tales.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, four daughters, Linda Gibbs, Cheryl Pickett, Mattie (Johnnie) Pritchett and Dorothy Baskin; two sons, Frank (Mary) Pickett, McConnie Baker; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; several cousins; one sister-in-law, Lizzie Pickett; goddaughter, Verna L. Howard.
Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Janie Pickett; brother, Cassie Pickett; sister, Lula M. Baker; daughter, Gloria J. Baker, aunt, Mattie M. Johnson; many other relatives including aunts, uncles and cousins.
