Mother Minnie Miles

Mother Minnie Miles went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Cartwright Hospice Center. Age 89 years. She was born August 21, 1921 in Lawndes County, Alabama to Lillie Bell and James Caldwell Sr.
Minnie confessed Christ at an early age at Big Union Christian Church in Calhoun, AL. She met and married George Mushatt Sr. To that union eight children were born. Minnie came to Albion, MI in 1967. She united with Lewis Chapel A.M.E Church where she remained until moving to Saginaw in 1978. She later joined St. Lukes Temple C.O.G.I.C. where she served faithfully for 32 years. She loved reading her bible, attending Sunday school, playing dominoes, fishing and doing word search puzzles. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory 6 children, Rev. George (Pastor Relinda) Mushatt, Mary McCall, McKinley Mushatt, Lily (James) Perkins, Namon (Rebecca) Mushatt, Dan (Octavia) Mushatt; 5 stepchildren, Georgia Mae Blackmon, Jessie (Georgia) Mushatt, David (Julie) Blackmon, Minnie Blackmon, Joseph (Sabrina) Blackmon; sister-in-law, Clara Caldwell; forty-eight grandchildren; one-hundred fourteen great-grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; four special cousins, Joe, Henry and Willie Caldwell, David Bandy; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Delicia Pruitt, Dr. Eugene Seals,
Covenant Medical Center ICU & 5th floor nurses, Cartwright Hospice Center and Ivan E. Phillips and the Paradise Funeral Chapel staff.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Hardie Mushatt, Amos Mushatt; two grandsons, Jessie McCall, George Mushatt; great grandson, McKinley Mushatt; four sisters, Edna Edwards, Ethyl Williams, Jessie Lou Robinson, Rebecca Stallworth; three brothers, Frank Lafayette Sr., James Caldwell Jr. and LuVorn Caldwell.
