Mother Rebecca Hunter passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at St. Marys of Michigan. Age 85 years. Mother Hunter was born December 8, 1927 in Mongolia, Arkansas to Murphy and Willie Mae Paschal.
Mother Hunter was the Assistant to Deacon Wives of District #8, President of the Prayer and Bible Band at Grant Street and Williams Memorial COGIC, C H Mason District Chairman of Women's Department, Missionary, and Sunday School Teacher. She was a good leader and dedicated to her pastors. Her voice allowed her to showcase her talent by singing in the church choir and with the young womens group called the Willamette Singers. She was a good teacher and was proud of the Missionaries of the church whom she said, "if she had enough money she would take them to the White House to speak because they were just that good." She loved the Lord and shared her faith with all that had ears to hear.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Abbie Barrios, Ruby Garth, Lee, Mary, Dennis, Ayona and Lamon Hunter; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; eight sisters, Augusta Williams, Fannie McCray, Jean, Liz, Clara, Vernell, Delores, Vera; two brothers, Arden Paschal, Junior Goosby; many other relatives and friends.
Mother Hunter was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Hunter, parents Murphy and Willie Mae Paschal; ten brothers and sisters.
