Mother Shirley Rae Bady

Mother Shirley Rae Bady went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper at the age of 80 years. She was born April 25, 1936 to Daisy Duell and Hess Thomas in Rapides Parish, Alexandria, Louisiana.
Shirley was raised by her mother and step-father, Richard Williams, in Flint, Michigan. She graduated from Flint Northern High School, Class of 1954, and was united in holy matrimony to Mauson Bady, on September 4, 1954. Of that union, three children were born. Shirley was employed at Saginaw General Hospital for over 45 years. She started in Housekeeping and worked her way up to Surgical Technician after completing the Certified Surgical Tech (CST) program at Delta College in 1976. Shirley was a faithful member of Victorious Believers Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Christopher Pryor. There she served on the Mothers Board. She enjoyed crocheting and baking. Mother will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Sharon Elaine Bady; two sons, Terrence (Cynthia) Mauson Bady of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Roderick Anthony Bady, Saginaw, Michigan; six grandchildren, Jennifer Lapsley, Justin Bady, Brandon (Tessa) Bady of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Jonathan (Darrian) Diggins of Kansas City, Missouri, China (Markeen) Baker, Roderick Anthony Bady, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Sonny (Rachael) Gatewood, Flint, Michigan; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special niece, Hilris Monroe of Texas, who was like a sister; goddaughter, Becky Petty and family; sister-in-law, Adline Bady, Garfield, Georgia; brother-in-law, C.T. Walker, Augusta, Georgia.
Mother Shirley Bady was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Mauson Bady, parents, Daisy and Hess Thomas, and step-father, Richard Williams.

The family expresses special thanks to Ms. Mary Ross and others who did special things during mother's illness.
