Mrs. Dorothy D. Cooper "Dot"

August 5, 1947 — February 22, 2023

Our beloved Dorothy Clark-Cooper "Dot," the matriarch of our family, gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Dorothy was born August 5, 1947, to Hillard and Catherine Clark.

Dorothy was always known to be very vocal and personable and therefore she chose a profession in social work. She used her voice, at the Saginaw Department of Social Services, advocating for families until her retirement. Dorothy and her husband, Clinter “Roy” Cooper, moved to North Carolina after they both retired. Dorothy spent her time knitting, reading mystery novels, and cooking. Dorothy’s cooking was known and loved from Michigan to North Carolina and gained a host of extended family and friends who would visit just to get one of her finger-licking plates!

She is survived by six children, Katrina Clark, Fayetteville, North Carolina, Tiffany Hicks, Latisha Fuller, Itonya Goodwine, David Clark, all of Saginaw, Michigan, and Robin Young, Orlando, Florida; three brothers, and four sisters; Sherley Clark of Saginaw, Michigan, Ruth Clark (Lloyd Keys) Henderson, North Carolina, Judge Terry L.
