Mrs. Katherine Baskin

Mrs. Katherine Sue Baskin of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Age 54 years.

Kathy was well educated with a number of certificates and degrees. She started her career at Gateway Computer. Later, deciding it was time for change, Kathy worked in the field of home healthcare, in education as a teacher’s aide, and also in customer service. Her true passion was working with the elderly. Kathy loved fishing with her husband, entertaining and putting on family functions, and going to the casino. To have known" Mookie Sue" was to love her.

Grateful for sharing her life are her husband, James Baskin; mother, Alvia Johnson; children, Terrance Johnson, Chaisha Johnson, James Baskin lll, Jamiesha Baskin, Kaneshia Baskin; stepdaughters, Keshawn Covile, Brittney Robinson, and Dawaun Beard; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Benita Anderson; Mildred Johnson, Harvey Johnson, Lucious Fisher; mother-in-law, Dorthothy Mae Baskin; brothers-in-law, Samual Baskin, Marcellino Cochran, aunts, Essie D. Carter, Viola Johnson, Saginaw, Michigan, Georgette “Leroy Woodhouse,” Shreveport, Louisiana; uncles, Howard Johnson, and Ernest Johnson, Saginaw, Michigan; cousins, Shevetta Johnson, Debra Carter; many other nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, and relatives that loved Kathy dearly. Last but not least, her favorite little guy, Zyhion Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shevonda Johnson, father, grandmothers, grandfathers, and aunts and uncles.
