Mrs. Olivia McDaniel entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center at the blessed age of 90 years. She was born to Gennie and Jannie Little on April 19, 1925 in Panola, Alabama.
Mrs. McDaniel was a high school graduate of the Panola, Alabama school system. She married the late Chester McDaniel, and they resided in Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Christ Deliverance Center prior to her illness. Mrs. McDaniel enjoyed being a homemaker, playing bingo, fishing, cooking, traveling and listening to music. She was a bold woman who always stood her ground. She helped many others through difficult times while overcoming obstacles and beating odds of her own. Her strength was rare and immeasurable. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters and one son, Janet L. Gaines, Diane L. Turner, Ciare Turner and Milik Turner; grandchildren, Raymond (Tarsha) Grissom, Michael Grissom, Larraine Lenoir, Bronvic Turner, Tiana Turner, Travonna Turner and DeTreveon Thomas, all of Saginaw, Michigan; twenty-one great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews other relatives and friends including a special friend, Gladene (Ruby) Mendenhall.
Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by her husband, Chester McDaniel, daughter, Roxanne Turner, great-grandsons, DeMarcus Turner and Keymon Turner, parents, Gennie and Jannie Little, sister, Jannet Pruitt, brothers, Lynwood and Eldon Little, special cousin, Elmira Arthur; and son-in-law, Harold Gaines.
The family would like to thank St. Marys of Michigan 4-North staff and friends and family who helped to make this transition easier.
